Obama-rama (and Some Tim Kaine for Good Measure)

I recognize this blog's prohibition on politics. So I'm just going to show you some photographs.

The stage is set...

The Governor of the Commonwealth, Tim Kaine got the crowd warmed up. His performance last night was significantly better than his last visit to Charlottesville.

The Main Event - Obama. Look how close we were!

Obama working the crowds and shaking my hand....

Textbook Typos

I feel slightly obligated to point this error out to my professor, since he, after all, is one of the authors of the casebook. But I thought I'd bring it to your attention first.

pg. 206, fn. 9:

"Nine [former Enron execs] pled guilty, including Enron's former Chief Financial Officer, Andrew Fastow, who faces up to 10 ears in prison."

That's gotta suck. Especially if you don't like corn on the cob.

not the best product description

I spent a lot of nights in hotel rooms this past semester. One of the perks of hotels are those little travel sized toiletries that you can scarf.

I went to open a new bar of soap, courtesy of the Four Seasons, Philadelphia. But, before doing so, I read the product description on the back:

"French Milled Pure Palm Oil Soap. Product of Thailand where skilled Craftsmen have painstakingly molded and milled this Soap...."

Reactions:

1. A French product. Made in Thailand? I'm not sure this is particularly consistent. Technically, Thailand was the only Southeast Asian country not to be colonized by Europe. I think we may need to broaden our definition of colonization.

2. 'Painstakingly molded" Brings to mind a sweatshop. And, unfortuantly, I bet those skilled Craftsmen weren't allowed to use this French Milled Pure Palm Oil Soap to clean the sweat off their brows either.

Maybe the soap company should reconsider its branding?

ZZZZ Best Blog

Usually the cases we read in Professional Responsibility are mergers gone sour, or crazy situations where the defendant's attorney hides the murder weapon in his desk drawer. But tomorrow's case is about a carpet cleaning firm called "ZZZZ Best."

They should definitely get points for creativity. And ho'w'd they decide on four Zs versus one or five?
